Treat your wheels to an upgrade with the gorgeous ATIA woven bicycle basket. Designed in-house by The Basket Room, this unique bike accessory features a lively orange band against natural grass, and is tiered in shape.
The perfect basket for picking up essentials at the market and for storing picnics, books and blankets on days out in the countryside, the ATIA can also be attached to the back of your bike as a stylish rear pannier if preferred. This handy bike accessory can also be attached to stairway banisters, bathroom towel rails and even cots if you fancy an aesthetic alternative to storing books and magazines, towels, toiletries and toys. Each individual bike basket is a work of art, taking up to three days to weave by hand. Made from indigenous veta vera grass – also known as Elephant Grass – the preparation process is lengthy: grass is harvested, split, hand-rolled and dyed in boiling water before a skilled weaver from our partner weaving cooperative in Northern Ghana sets to work.
To own one of our woven baskets is to become an important part of our journey: a beautiful story of sustainability and time-honoured craftsmanship. We are proud to support the weavers in a truly fair trade, supplying a supplementary source of income to help sustain farming communities whose primary income can be unreliable.
Each bicycle basket comes with a thank you card from the weaving co-operative that made yours. Want to know more about the people behind the baskets?
